On a night dedicated to promoting Morgan’s Message and raising awareness about mental health, the Kennett Blue Demons delivered an impressive performance, shutting out the Oxford Hornets with a commanding score of 7-0. While Kennett had control of the ball for the majority of the first half, they initially struggled to find the back of the net, thanks in part to the exceptional efforts of Oxford’s goalkeeper, Emma Coates, who made several crucial saves. However, the tide turned early in the third quarter when Kennett’s freshman center midfielder, Margo Schwarz, executed a reverse shot that found its mark in the net, igniting a flurry of scoring opportunities in the second half.

VOLLEYBALL

WCE 3, Interboro 0
WCE Volleyball had a decisive 3-0 win against Interboro last night, demonstrating their dominance on the court. The scores for the three sets tell the story of their commanding performance: 25-7, 25-5, and 25-13.

Leading the charge for WCE was Katie McPeak, who showcased her exceptional setting skills with a total of 20 assists. Her precise distribution of the ball played a pivotal role in the team’s success. Their offensive firepower was on full display, with standout performances from Alexa Mork and Annie Kerns. Alexa Mork notched an impressive 8 kills and added 3 aces to her tally, demonstrating her versatility on both the attacking and serving fronts. Meanwhile, Annie Kerns matched Mork’s 8 kills, showcasing her proficiency at putting the ball away.

Kyla Senkow was a force to be reckoned with from the service line, delivering 5 aces, and also contributed 5 assists to facilitate the team’s offense. Lauren Cuskey made her presence felt with 4 kills and 3 aces, further contributing to WCE’s formidable offensive performance. Her well-placed kills and powerful serves added valuable points to the team’s score. Kendall Thompson may have had fewer kills, with 1 to her name, but she made her mark with 3 aces, showcasing her ability to capitalize on her serves to gain crucial points for her team.

WCE’s emphatic 3-0 win over Interboro was a testament to their well-rounded and dynamic team.
